Information on Drafting and Custom Design

 Many customers come to us with the idea of custom designing their own home. We love this idea, as we believe that anyone should be able to build their dream home! 

We often meet our clients at one of our display homes or in the Single Builders office. Regardless of where we meet, they always have the option to come have a look at our house plans, which are pre-drawn by Arei Designs. 

If you’d like to customise a plan to suit your living needs, this is also possible. When customising your house, it’s helpful to build from an existing house plan. All custom plans are drawn up by D & C projects and take the aspect of the block into consideration.  

You have the option of building out of different materials, such as James Hardie Linea Weatherboard or going with a Colorbond roof. This allows you to also change the look and feel of your home. Your dream home will of course be built to your specifications. 

Creating a custom house plan 

Having a blank canvas to draw on to build your own home may seem overwhelming. We recommend looking at our current house plans to see what would work best on your block. By looking at our current plans, you will have a good idea of what works on your block, and we can design from there. 

When working with D & C Projects, you are in good hands. They have a staff of six, which means that your plans are drafted and returned in a timely manner. One of their staff will also go to your block and provide advice on the best orientation of the design. They will look at the levels of your block, to keep all factors in mind. D & C Projects is located in Tamworth, at the Business Park, so you know that you're getting local knowledge when your plans get drafted. 

Some clients have already created mud maps or basic outlines of their home. If you have created these, we can help you get them drafted. D &C will have a look at the mud map and sit down with you to provide you with personalised advice on how to best implement your mud map into reality! 

If you would like to customise your plans, keep in mind that we offer five revisions to your house plans. These five revisions can include as many changes to the plan as you like. If you have images of internal and external looks that you like, we encourage you to bring these in. Most ideas can be adopted to plans.  

Seek inspiration from Pinterest or your favourite magazine. Of course, our display homes offer a wealth of ideas. 

Building with a pre-designed house plan  

If you decide to go with one of our Arei Design plans we can still make changes to these plans. We can move things around, make the designs bigger or smaller. These plans are by no means set in stone, you can still make changes. 

With an Arei Design plan you will get a plan that has full elevations, a floor plan with full measurements and a quantity sheet which shows, for example, the tiling area for the floor plan or the surface area of the roof. 

The most important thing to keep in mind is that we design for every budget. Whether you go with one of Arei Design’s house plans, or get a custom plan made by D & C Projects. We strive to make your dream home a reality.
